Having built up a solid following of foodies in Hither Green & Lee, Damascus Chef is debuting his hearty, organic four courser in Zone 2!
From the village hearths of Northern Syria to the shangling innards of South London bars, coffee shops and arts venues, you can expect literature readings and live music to accompany four hand-crafted courses, each stepped with folklore and rustic tales which we'll satisfy your curiosity about throughout the night.
To make things doubly exciting, we're changing our menu half-way through our month-long Wednesday night residency at the Peckham Pelican. You can browse the menu we're serving on the 5th & 12th of April, as well as the one we're serving on the 19th & 26th of April here: www.damascuschef.com/menus. Everyone eats all four courses, including each of the hand-crafted meze dishes, including mutabbal and baba ganoush which we smoke on wood in our own garden, lebneh which had string ourselves. Other dishes include mulukhiya (that un-translatable regional delicacy), freekeh with organic lamb, lemon braised organic chicken thigh with muhammara and fresh coriander, kawaj, bamiya and more..
Expect a raw and energetic vibe, great for quirky date nights and long-awaited meet ups alike. Our food always fills and never disappoints, so come hungry and with high expectations for the freshest, most innovative takes you've ever had on rural Syrian cuisine.
There's only one sitting for each of our four dates at the Pelican, so turn up any time between 6 and 8.30pm to catch all four courses before the venue closes at 10pm.
