The Compulsive Foodie opens up her 9th floor Central London flat to you. Enjoy the Summer Solstice from her balcony, whilst enjoying the views of The Shard, The London Eye & even Big Ben whilst dining on delicious fusion cuisine in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Your dinner will be served to you by a real food lover, a chef who draws from her extensive travels, cultural background & Cheffing experience for her innovative food creation. For this Summer Solstice supperclub, Rahima will draw from her heritage and diverse cultural background – born in East Africa into an Indian family & having lived in France, Italy & Span, this dinner will feature her star, signature dishes dishes, ranging from delicious Indian cuisine with East African & French twists, to Spanish influences and of course a bit from Mamma in Italy! Rahima will also draw influences from some of her favourite chefs – Jason Atherton, Ottolenghi, Ferran Adria and of course Mamma & Granmama!
Expect a very unusual but mouthwatering menu with 4-5 delicious courses. In addition, especially for the Oenophiles, a suggestion of wine pairings will be emailed in advance.
Here are some sample dishes (I will choose 4 courses from here, and maybe throw in a couple of surprises):
Mango Infused Vodka Pops – candy for grown ups!
Naryal Vaaro Mogo – a unique East African dish - Cassava in coconut cream with an Indian twist
Curried Corn – a typical East African dish with a twist from the Sub-continent. Betcha can’t have just one serving!
Roasted Okra – an Indian dish with a Mediterranean twist
Warm Butternut Squash salad with a lime chilli dressing & peanut crumble topping
Roasted chicken with saffron, hazelnuts, & honey (this was a big hit at the restaurant where I was a guest chef in Dec/Jan this year)
Pistachio encrusted tuna (learned from a Sicilian chef near Catania)
Masala maachi - marinated cod in a spicy and rich tomato sauce baked in the oven with potatoes
Salmon with a chilli lemon & coriander marinade
Watercress & pistachio salad with an orange blossom dressing
Lychee Pannacotta with a Vimto jelly, pomegranate & rose perfume
Mango & Cardomom Shrikand with Pistachio Tuilles– yoghurt based dessert from Gujerat with a French twist, using saffron, the world’s most expensive spice!
