The Recipe Kit (www.therecipekit.co.uk), an exciting new recipe delivery service, has created a Christmas Dinner master class designed to eliminate the all-too-familiar culinary festive strife.
Hosted by The Recipe Kit’s Head Chef Olia Hercules, who was trained at Leiths and perfected her skills in the fiery kitchens of Ottolenghi, each class will show attendees how to flawlessly create a traditional yuletide meal. From mastering the perfect roast to helping sprouts shine, Olia will teach guests how to effortlessly produce all the gastronomic components of this annual feast as well as navigating the minefield of timings for each ingredient.
Perfect for both novices hosting Christmas Dinner for the first time and seasoned old hands looking to improve their culinary festive repertoire, each interactive class will ensure guests leave feeling inspired and confident in preparing the notoriously stressful holiday meal.
Olia will begin by demonstrating how to perfect the art of the canapé, with Beetroot and Blood Orange Gravadlax. Rich in colour and fragrant, this bite-sized morsel offers a delightful clash of flavours between citrus and the peaty aroma of smoked salmon.
The star of any Christmas table is of course the bird and The Recipe Kit will be upping the ante this year by showcasing the original British Yuletide classic, Roast Goose. Served elegantly with Quince and heaps of Stuffing, this vintage recipe has been brought up to date with Olia’s unique globally-inspired twist and is sure to wow even the Scrooges amongst us.
The master class will also teach guests creative interpretations of classic Christmas side dishes. From Roast Potatoes with Caramelised Onions and Samphire to Grilled Brussel Sprouts with a Burnt Butter Sauce and Flaked Almonds, The Recipe Kit will be demonstrating how to make an unforgettably exceptional yuletide meal.
Gone are the days of unappealing sauces and gravy boats filled with brown turkey gloop. The Recipe Kit will be showcasing innovative and exciting sauces, including Brioche Loaf Bread Sauce and a Parsley Vinaigrette guaranteed to breathe life into your roast vegetables.
Of course no Christmas meal would be complete without an indulgent, triumphant dessert and The Recipe Kit does not disappoint. Olia will be demonstrating how to create a perfect Multi-Layered, Boozy Trifle. Topped heavily with creamy mascarpone cheese, succulent Disaronno roasted figs and adorned with crunchy honeycomb rocks, this dessert is sure to be remembered far into the New Year.
The master class will conclude with a Christmas wine pairing session to teach guests how to perfectly complement each of the dishes they have prepared.
Places at the master class are available to book at £49 per person, which includes a festive welcome cocktail of Prosecco with Cranberry Syrup.
